Safety is one of the primary concerns for all companies when it comes to operations and design engineering. Grantek understands the importance of safety, especially when integrating into a system. When done properly, safe design is one of the best investments a company can make.

Grantek helps you navigate the complex regulatory requirements for Safety through the use of industry consensus standards, automation & engineering expertise, and our knowledge in industry best practices.

It is Grantek’s policy to perform a safety risk assessment on every project. It is our belief that safety should be included on all projects, not just the ones that appear to be safety-related.  We have discovered that accounting for safety at the beginning of our project process saves money for our clients in the long run—it allows improvements in safety and the use of new safety technology to improve productivity to be integrated along with the rest of a project.

Grantek’s documentation services give our clients the peace of mind and confidence they need to demonstrate a safe and compliant workplace.  In addition to thorough Risk Assessments, Risk Reduction Plans, and Safety Requirement Specifications used to establish a clear set of expectations before beginning a remediation project, Grantek also provides formal Verification and Validation documentation to ensure correct design and commissioning after each project is complete. As part of our client’s overall safety management programs, Grantek can also provide safety training, develop safe work procedures, develop Lockout/Tagout procedures, and even conduct annual/bi-annual audits to ensure all safety systems are still functioning correctly.

Grantek has a team of TÜV certified Functional Safety Engineers on staff, with our Safety Practice Director also holding the designation of a  Board-Certified Safety Professional (CSP).  Grantek is a participant and voting member on both the ANSI B11 and the ASSE Z244.1 Accredited Standards Committees.

Recently Grantek has contributed to the most recent revisions of ANSI B11.19 Performance Criteria for Safeguarding, ANSI B11.20 Safety Requirements for Integrated Manufacturing Systems, and ASSE Z244.1 Control of Hazardous Energy – Lockout/Tagout and Alternative Methods.

When it comes to safety project implementation, Grantek was one of the first system integrators to be recognized as a Rockwell-Certified Machine Safety Integrator.
