Grantek to Present at the Make It Safe Conference in Whistler, BC

Jeff Winter, Director of Grantek’s Safety Practice, will present at the Make It Safe Conference in Whistler, BC on October 27th. The Make It Safe Conference is hosted by the Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC. The Conference objectives are to educate, inspire and motivate the manufacturing sector in BC to embrace new trends, ideas and innovations in the journey towards safety excellence.
Jeff will present at 11:30amPT on October 27th. He will lead an education session titled: “Safety in Industrial Automation: The Future is Now (Industrial Internet of Things).” The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) enables organizations to harness the power of a connected enterprise to improve both safety and productivity. This session will allow attendees to learn how the future of IIoT can not only help improve performance in production, but also improve safety and compliance, empowering safety professionals with a real-time understanding of worker behaviors, machinery compliance, causes of safety shutdowns or stoppages, and safety anomalies and trends.

About the Presenter:
Jeff Winter is the director of Grantek’s Safety Practice, where he leads a team of engineers in developing and delivering machine safety services across North America. With over 10 years of experience working for several different safety product manufacturers, he has a unique experience in bridging OSHA regulatory compliance and safety standards interpretation with engineering requirements and corporate safety strategy. Throughout his career he has been a leader in educating the industry on the benefits of machine safety through hosting best practice industry events, participating in speaking engagements, developing white papers, and writing technical articles. Jeff is also a TÜV Functional Safety Engineer, Board Certified Safety Professional, voting member of the ANSI B11 Accredited Standards Committee, officer for American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), and Chairman of the Machinery Safety Committee at Industrial Society of Automation (ISA).
