Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI)

The Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI) is the world’s first independent digital maturity assessment built specifically for manufacturers. Originally developed by Singapore’s Economic Development Board with TÜV SÜD, it’s now stewarded globally by the International Centre for Industrial Transformation (INCIT) as part of the World Economic Forum’s Global SIRI Initiative — and over 1,000 manufacturers across more than 30 countries have completed the official assessment.

A SIRI assessment evaluates your operation across three core building blocks; Process, Technology, and Organization, underpinned by 8 pillars and broken down into 16 specific dimensions. Each dimension is scored on a 6-band scale, from largely manual and disconnected through to fully optimized and future-ready, giving you a precise, internationally benchmarked picture of where you stand today.

The output isn’t just a score. SIRI’s Prioritization Matrix weighs your results against your specific business priorities and industry; the dimensions that matter most in Food & Beverage aren’t the same ones that matter most in Life Sciences, so the roadmap that comes out the other side is grounded in what will actually move the needle for your operation, not a generic checklist. Multiple consultants on Grantek’s team are Certified SIRI Assessors, so this assessment isn’t something we’re applying second-hand, it’s a credentialed capability on our team, delivered the way SIRI is meant to be delivered.

Where This Adds the Most Value

Traceability and recall readiness

SIRI’s Process building block evaluates vertical and horizontal integration, in practice whether your line data flows up to the business and your supply chain data flows across partners. For Food & Beverage manufacturers, that maps directly onto traceability and cold-chain visibility.

Quality-weighted prioritization for regulated environments

SIRI’s Prioritization Matrix weighs each dimension by its impact on the metrics that matter most to your industry, and in regulated manufacturing, quality-related dimensions typically carry outsized weight. The assessment itself isn’t a compliance audit, but it gives Quality and Operations leadership a shared, benchmarked starting point.

Adaptable beyond the plant floor

SIRI was built around discrete and process manufacturing, so it isn’t an off-the-shelf fit for every facility type. For clients like data centers, we adapt the underlying Process, Technology, and Organization structure into a structured benchmark for automation, monitoring, and workforce readiness rather than applying a manufacturing-specific scorecard as-is.

Quick Answers

What Is It?

An internationally recognized assessment benchmarking your Process, Technology, and Organization maturity.

Who Is It For?

Multi-site or multi-national manufacturers who want a globally credible maturity benchmark, with industry-specific relevance for Food & Beverage, Life Sciences, and beyond.

How Does It Work?

A structured evaluation across SIRI’s 3 building blocks, 8 pillars, and 16 dimensions, resulting in a benchmarked score and a prioritized gap analysis.

Why Grantek?

Multiple consultants on our team are INCIT-Certified SIRI Assessors, we apply the framework the way it’s meant to be used, as the front end of a fundable roadmap, not a standalone score.

SIRI FAQ

What is SIRI?

The Smart Industry Readiness Index; the world’s first independent digital maturity assessment for manufacturers, originally developed by Singapore’s Economic Development Board and TÜV SÜD, now globally stewarded by INCIT as part of the World Economic Forum’s Global SIRI Initiative.

What does a SIRI assessment measure?

Three core building blocks; Process, Technology, and Organization, broken down into 8 pillars and 16 dimensions, each scored on a 6-band maturity scale.

Are Grantek’s consultants certified to conduct SIRI assessments?

Yes. Multiple consultants on our team are Certified SIRI Assessors through INCIT, the International Centre for Industrial Transformation.

Is SIRI only relevant for large, multi-national manufacturers?

It’s most valuable there, since it gives you a consistent way to compare maturity across sites and countries, but it applies just as well to a single site that wants a globally benchmarked result.

How is this different from the CESMII framework?

Both measure smart manufacturing maturity. SIRI is internationally recognized and well suited to multi-country comparisons. The CESMII Smart Manufacturing Acceleration Framework is built specifically around US manufacturing standards and priorities.

How does a SIRI assessment lead into next steps?

The findings feed directly into a prioritized roadmap, typically a Digital Transformation Strategy & Roadmap engagement, or a more focused Navigator engagement depending on what the assessment surfaces.
